Teenager and ex Mr Karting driver, Jordan King has joined a long list of greats including Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen King-7having incredibly won the British Formula 3 International Series with an assured drive in race two at the Nurburgring.

Having already dominated the opening contest, King had to start eighth in the reverse grid race two. Not wishing to involve himself in the frantic opening to a quite sensational race, King settled into eighth early on as those ahead of him squabbled for position.

Championship rival Will Buller was flying as he looked to keep his faint title hopes alive and had got himself up to third place late on, whilst King had progressed to a solid top six position.

Just when it looked like Buller would delay King’s title celebrations by at least 24 hours the Ulsterman spun at the final corner late on and ended his race in the barrier.

With King putting in another mature drive that belies his young age and rookie F3 status, the 19-year-old settled for fifth knowing that it would be enough to secure the championship.

He crossed the line to join the likes of Senna, Hakkinen and Red Bull F1 star Daniel Ricciardo in winning one of the most prestigious and sought after championship’s in the world.
